Yesterday I started the 30-Day Challenge, talking about single life. Today, I’m gonna talk about where I’d like to be 10 years from now. So without further ado…
When I was growing up in Saudi Arabia I had lots of dreams. I wanted to play football, basketball, and win a gold medal in swimming when I grow up. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the best in the first two, and the latter wasn’t just a good long-term plan. Then I used to draw Dragon Ball-Z characters in a notebook I always stole from my mom. Then it was music. I couldn’t get enough of Eminem and Aaron Carter. I also loved hearing the Qur’an being recited.
When I entered secondary school, I joined the school band and I started playing the flute. I got so good I was the lead soloist before I graduated. I’ll probably buy another flute anytime soon; mine got lost in school.
But entering SS1 was the time I put everything in perspective. I also had a liking for numbers (not maths, numbers) and doing business and making deals. So I decided to do Finance because it gives me the best of both worlds. I can make investments with shares in Nigeria and Overseas and also do what I want to make more money.
That being said, I’d be 29 in 10 years.
I see myself happily married to a loving wife with four kids (2 boys and 2 girls; a girl being the oldest and a boy being the youngest) running into me when I come back from work. I would be the CEO of the family investment company after getting my MSc. in Finance at whatever university tickles my fancy. Maybe when I get enough money I’ll start my own sports clothing line. I’d love to have Chelsea wear jerseys made by my own company, but maybe that’s more of what I see in 20 years rather than 10!
All I hope is that no matter where or what I do, I just want to be pleased. Therefore, if money make me pleased, nothing except God Almighty is stopping me from getting it!
Those are my dreams. One word: ambition.
Check back tomorrow for Day 3 as I talk about drugs and alcohol. Don’t forget to subscribe….
